Healthcare
For dental and medical practices and clinics: IT infrastructure that protects patient data, a website built for the practitioner, and support that does not interrupt your day.
Patient data is the data that must be protected most carefully
When a computer fails in a practice, appointments slip; when patient records are lost, there is no way back. Under Turkish data protection law (KVKK), health data is a special category of personal data, which means a far heavier duty of protection than an ordinary customer list.
In most practices, IT falls to the practitioner or the receptionist: no backups are taken, the patient management software sits on a single computer, and X-rays and intraoral camera images pile up on the desktop. Our IT support for medical practices puts that in order without stopping the flow of patients.
IT support for dental practices, medical offices and clinics; bespoke website design for doctors, patient data security, practice management system infrastructure and compliance with Turkish data protection law (KVKK).
Sound familiar?
The six problems we see most often in practices
If even two of these sound familiar, the risk is greater than you think.
Patient records on a single computer
The patient management software and its database sit on one desktop machine; if it fails, years of records go with it.
Backups not taken, or never tested
Everyone assumes a backup exists; a restore has never been tried. In ransomware cases this is the most expensive lesson.
X-rays and images scattered
Panoramic X-rays, intraoral camera images and treatment photos circulate on desktops, phones and messaging apps.
Patient data in personal accounts
Appointments and patient correspondence run through personal email and messaging apps, with no record and no oversight.
Leavers keep their access
A receptionist or assistant who leaves still has access to the patient software and email months later.
A website that breaches the rules
Wording that counts as advertising, patient testimonials and before-and-after images conflict with the restrictions on promotion in healthcare.
Scope
What our IT support for medical practices covers
Patient management and practice software
We set up the server, the database backup and multi-user access for your patient management software, and deal with the software vendor on your behalf.
Patient data security
We protect special category data with disk encryption, individual accounts, role-based permissions and access logs.
Image archive and backup
We bring X-rays, intraoral camera images and treatment photos into a permissioned, backed-up and searchable archive.
Practice network and devices
We install and maintain the clinic network, wireless connectivity, chairside computers, printers and card readers.
A website built for the practitioner
Bespoke design, the practitioner’s background and treatment areas, an appointment request form, multiple languages and mobile layout, with content shaped to the rules.
Data protection and patient notices
Together with the law firm we prepare the privacy notice, explicit consent and retention periods; we put the technical measures in place.
Regulation
Two separate duties in healthcare: data and promotion
IT decisions in healthcare are made alongside two sets of rules. The points below describe the Turkish framework and are for information only.
Special category personal data
Under KVKK, health data is a special category of personal data: stricter conditions and additional measures set by the Authority apply to processing and storing it.
Regulation on Personal Health Data
A Ministry of Health regulation setting separate rules for recording, sharing, storing and destroying health data.
Restrictions on promotion in healthcare
Promotional and informational activity by healthcare providers is limited; website and social media content must not amount to advertising. We build the site within that framework.
Testimonials and images
Patient testimonials, before-and-after images and wording that promises a result need separate assessment; we take the legal view together with our partner law firm.
Working with ministry systems
The security and currency of the computers that connect to national health systems such as e-Nabız, MHRS and e-prescription is a separate heading.
Data breach notification
For a breach involving patient data, the 72-hour notification process: we define the detection, assessment and technical investigation steps in advance.
This section is for information only and does not constitute legal advice. We take the legal assessment together with our partner law firm.
Artificial intelligence
Using AI the right way in this industry
In healthcare, AI does not take the place of the practitioner’s judgement; it speeds up the writing and the searching.
Where AI helps
- Drafts of patient information sheets, aftercare instructions and consent forms
- Translation and drafting support in correspondence with foreign patients
- Closed assistants that search quickly through in-house procedures, price lists and stock records
- Classifying appointment correspondence and drafting first replies
Legal responsibility and risks
- Diagnosis, treatment planning and medication decisions cannot be delegated to AI; responsibility stays with the practitioner.
- Entering patient names, identity details, images or diagnoses into open AI tools risks a breach involving special category data under KVKK.
- Promotional text produced by AI can easily cross the line into advertising, which is restricted in healthcare; every text must be checked.
- Edits made to patient images that do not reflect reality create problems both under the rules and in terms of trust.
Using AI does not remove legal responsibility: Turkish data protection law (KVKK), confidentiality duties, intellectual property and sector regulations all still apply. These points are for information only; we carry out the legal assessment together with our partner law firm. See AI Integrations for details.

Frequently asked questions
Healthcare: frequently asked questions
Do you work with single-practitioner practices?
Yes. We scale the scope to the size of the practice; in a single-practitioner practice we usually start with backup, device security, business email and the website.
We already have patient management software. Do we have to change it?
No. We work independently of the software: we manage its server, database backup, user access and performance, while the vendor continues to support the application itself.
Is patient data safe in the cloud?
A properly configured enterprise cloud is, in most cases, safer than a single computer in the practice. We decide together where the data is kept, who can access it and how it is backed up.
Can we use patient testimonials or before-and-after photos on the website?
Because of the restrictions on promotion in healthcare, this content is risky. We build the site around information rather than promotion, and assess anything contentious with our partner law firm.
Do you sell hardware and software?
We supply it when needed, but we stay independent: we recommend the product that best fits the need and protect your existing investment.
